lyrics

I am back in Ontario, north Ontario.
Back to the pine, back to the shield, the jagged and rolling Canadian shield.
I'm looking at timber.
Shoreline of Superior.
The true fall colours followed by snow.
I am back in Ontario.

Drove from the west, headed east, man this country's a visual feast!
Prevailing winds, they pushed me through.
I'm east-bound and keeping true.
The rocky skyline showed me a good time.
The prairie wheat grass; it almost glows.
But I am back in Ontario.

I've come back to maple trees with brilliant red maple leaves.
We tap 'em when the frost is gone.
We tap and tap all day long.
And when the spring comes, the sugar sap runs.
We'll cook it sticky, then eat it with snow.
When I am back in Ontario.

Now, don't you snort and don't you frown, I ain't from Toronto town.
All them folks, it makes me shiver.
I call home the Muskoka River.
The cool black water; good swimming in the summer.
It freezes over, and I'm skating to the goal screaming
"I am from Ontario"

Muskeg swamps and pictographs, mosquitos that'll prick your ass.
Blueberries and beaver dams.
Beaver mamas and her beaver clans.
Lake trout fishing; just hoping and a'wishing.
The bullfrog choirs singing with all their souls,
"We are from Ontario".

I am back in Ontario, north Ontario.
Back to the pine, back to the shield, the jagged and rolling Canadian shield.
I'm looking at timber.
Shoreline of Superior.
The true fall colours followed by snow.
I am back in Ontario.
